What’s Christmas without mince pies?

here’s a quick and simple recipe for you to make your own mince pies at home.

  • Ready to roll shortcrust pastry
  • 50g Plain flour
  • 350g Mincemeat filling
  • 50g icing sugar (for dusting)


  1. Pre-heat your oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7
  2. Dust your workspace with flour and roll out the ready to roll pastry, about ¼ inch thick.
  3. Using the cutters, cut out twelve circles and twelve stars.
  4. Place your twelve circles of pastry into the cupacake tray and using a spoon, fill ¾ full with mincemeat.
  5. Place your star pastry shapes on top of the mincemeat and put them in the oven for 10-15 mins or until the pastry is golden brown.
  6. Keep an eye on them as they really don’t take long.
  7. Once your pies are baked place them on a cooling rack and allow to full cool before dusting them with some icing sugar and serving. Enjoy.
