Christmas Sugar Cookies

Quick and easy Christmas sugar cookies

✿ Serves: 12-16 cookies

Let’s do this!

  • Preheating the oven to 190C/375F/Gas 5.
  • Place the butter and sugar into a bowl and cream together until light and fluffy.
  • add in the egg and vanilla extract, a little at a time and mix well.
  • Add in the flour again a little at a time until the mixture comes together as a dough, wrap dough in cling film and pop in the fridge for approx. 30mins.
  • Lightly dust your workspace with flour and then using a rolling pin roll the dough to around 1.5cm thick and cut out your cookies with your Christmas cookie cutters and place them on a lined baking tray and bake for 10-12mins or until pale golden-brown.
  • Place your cookies on a wire cooling rack and allow them to cool and harden.


While you wait for the cookies to cool, lets make the icing. Sift the icing sugar into a bowl adding a 1tbsp of cold water at a time mix together until you get a light but firm paste. Separate the icing into 3 or 4 little bowls and add food colouring until you get your desired colour. Once mixed, spoon the icing into piping bags and let your artistic side go wild.
