A Christmas Tag

A Christmas Tag

If you don’t know already Christmas is my favourite time of year and as Christmas is fast approaching and everyone is getting into the festive spirit, I thought why not do A Christmas Tag post.

  • What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?

Christmas is my favourite time of year so I love all Christmas movies but if I had to choose 1 film that really gets me into the Christmas spirit it has to be Home Alone. The first and second home alone were my favourite films as a child and watching them as an adult brings back so many good memories.

  • Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

It’s tradition in my house that I get one present on Christmas Eve and open the rest on Christmas morning. As a child, morning literally meant 4/5am!! But these days its more like 9am after I’ve dragged myself out of bed lol.

  • Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

Growing up the best thing about Christmas was Christmas morning, waking up and checking if there was a stocking at the end of the bed, this meant Santa had been. Me and my brother would bust into our parent’s bedroom with our stockings shouting “Santa’s Been” and blurry eyed mam and dad tried their hardest to be excited after just a few hours sleep. We’d spend the next half hour rummaging through the cool little nick nacks while chasing the dog to stop pinching our stuff. Makes me smile just thinking about it.

  • Favourite festive food?

Oh this is a tough one! So many amazing foods at Christmas but for me its not Christmas without a terry’s chocolate orange!

  • Favourite Christmas gift?

My favourite Christmas gift every year since I can remember has to be the new pj’s on Christmas Eve. Every year I had to have clean bedding, a bath and then new pj’s. I still do this now and to be honest there’s no better feeling than Christmas eve prep.

  • Favourite Christmas scent?

This has to be gingerbread or cinnamon, you knew Christmas was close when my nan would spend hours in the kitchen cooking lots of different bakes but those two scents stand out the most for me.

  • Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

Yep! Christmas Eve I go up my mums, help prep the food ready for Christmas day. Shower and put my new pj’s on. Then put some Christmas music on, wrap any last minute gifts and have a cheeky glass of vino with the tree lights twinkling and Christmas scented candles burning…. Feels so magical

  • What tops your tree?

Nothing exciting for this one, just a silver glittery star that I get nick to put on as I’m way to short. (hehe)

  • As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?

I honestly can’t think of any! I know some parents tell their children that if they’re good they can ask Santa for X,Y,Z but I don’t have any memories of that and I was just so excited Christmas morning that I was happy with whatever I had. No doubt there probably were things I wanted and didn’t get but obviously I got over it very quickly. I was a pretty grateful child to be honest.

  • What’s the best part about Christmas for you?

Definitely has to be the build up to Christmas, the Christmas build up is busy and can be stressful at times but I love it. I start off at the end of November putting the tree and decorations up and then all the shopping trips, family visits, Christmas themed events and planning the dinner is so much fun, Christmas day is great with all the family, gifts and food but its always over way too quickly.
